Position: Database Administrator

Location: Reston, VA

Duration: 6 Months

JOB DESCRIPTION:

3 - 5 years of professional experiences in Oracle administration. Work experience as both system and application DBA. Provide technical expertise in database area throughout the life cycle of the projects such as preparing database objects, refreshing databases from production to lower environment, migrating database objects from one environment to the other

in accordance to SDLC. Maintain database operation environment with SOX compliance and adhere to corporate policy.

The DBAs will be responsible for all aspects of DB administration such as build, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot databases. Provide technical expertise in database area throughout the life cycle of the projects such

as preparing database objects, refresh databases from production to lower environment, migrate database objects from one environment to the other.

Apply security patches and tuning databases.

Hand on experience with optimization and database performance tuning

Must have Oracle and experience working in Unix platform, strong communication skills, and multi-tasking. Be able to work off hours and weekends as needed basis.

In-depth knowledge of software design principles and System Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) with demonstrated ability to optimize maintainability and usability.

Hands-on experience in the following data management and architecture disciplines: master and reference data management, metadata management, data modeling, application/transactional data store, operational data store, data warehouse, and data marts.

Working knowledge and demonstrated use of Microsoft Access, Excel, and all other Microsoft Software, such as, Visio, Project, etc.

Knowledge of Business process development methodology (BPM) and tools.

MUST HAVE's

Expertise in entity relationship modeling and usage of a data modeling tool such as ER Studio or ERWin.

Knowledge of data management standards and practices is required 

Excellent communication skills are required.
