Job Title:  Network Engineer
Location:  Lincolnshire, IL
Durations: 12+ months
 
Description:
Build and support infrastructure systems configurations for Corporate Enterprise, Acquisitions, remote and retail store locations.
Lead projects and provide innovative solutions for a variety of business aspects involving hardware and software configurations,
software and data distribution as well as research and planning technological and business solutions. Assist in formulating project
scope and objectives. Develop complex technical designs, scripts/code, test, implement and maintain software and hardware
configurations. Multi-task on projects across the Enterprise, divisions, groups and environments.
Responsibilities Include:
Build Fortinet FortiGate 200b, 1240b, 3950, 5140b, Enhanced Load Balancing Configuration, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer
platforms. In a Layer 2 and or Layer 3 configuration.
Build/execute Checkpoint Firewall-1 R65 – R71.x migrations on open platform hardware, using SecurePlatform.
Build Cisco ASA 5500 series in an SSL/VPN configuration.
Build/execute migrations from Juniper SA6500 series in an SSL/VPN configuration.
Build and support firewall related administrative and or infrastructure systems.
Tier 3 support - respond to trouble tickets and perform troubleshooting on firewall devices.
Share in pager rotation / off hour support responsibilities.
Work closely with other teams/team members to integrate firewall devices into the overall network design.
Work with Customers to activate services; and assist with problem resolution as required.
Participate in projects of large scale.
Build/Implement proof of concepts and derive results from consistent testing methodologies and measures.
Develop code, test, deploy and maintain utilities and tools.
Maintain update and administer firewall standards, documentation, processes and procedures.
Follow defined change, problem and incident management processes
Assemble hardware, configuration of environments, files and scripts.
Physically assemble the firewall hardware, arrange for, and or do, the 'rack-n-stack' within the targeted data center (must be able to
lift 75 lbs
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and at least 5 years' experience with firewall administration OR a High School
Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of experience with firewall administration
Experience with site to site VPN tunnels.
Experience with programming languages Perl, Korn/Bash
Experience with network protocols and RFC's
Basic level skill in Microsoft Office 2010: Word (for example: creating documents, entering and formatting text, page layouts,
creating tables, and adding graphics), Excel (for example: creating worksheets, entering data, creating basic formulas, working
with cells and rows) and PowerPoint (for example: creating a new presentation from a design template, adding and removing
slides, entering and formatting text, adding speaker notes, and viewing presentations)
Candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to execute / track multiple projects, involving multiple firewall technologies.
The selected candidate must be a team player with demonstrated initiative to work without constant guidance.

Preferred Qualifications
1 year experience with Fortinet firewalls, and an in depth knowledge and experience with the FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer.
3 years' experience with Checkpoint Firewall-1 and Provider-1.
Experience with Unix/Linux/Secure Platform Operating Systems, system internals and tools
Experience with common hardware components such as PCs, servers, Network interface cards, hard drives, memory, serial,
parallel, USB and other interfaces
Knowledge of firewall/security and networking topologies.
Knowledge of Cisco ASA, in an SSL/VPN configuration
Knowledge of Juniper SA6500 in an SSL/VPN configuration
Understanding of Cisco switching and router platforms.
Experience with Firewall Virtualization technology solution
