Urgent need of BI Analyst for Detroit, MI(Long Term)

Position: BI  Analyst

Location: Detroit, MI

The position will be responsible for supporting and delivering functionality for one of GM's key Finance Transformation Initiatives.  The Business Analyst will be assigned to multiple agile development projects to deliver Corporate Scorecards and Executive Reporting.

 

Responsibilities

·         Provides direction for Business Partner(s) and IT Development teams in creating multiple, interrelated functional specifications, supporting translation into IT design requirements.

·         Works with Business Partners to identify project(s) annualized direct business benefits and associated costs.

·         Evaluates alternatives to support the future state "vision" for Management Reporting

·         Facilitate discussions and documents Business process models to support integration across Finance areas.

·         Participate as a Product Manager in Agile Development Sprints, ensuring that scope, quality, cost and timing targets are met.

·         Serve as a liaison between the Business Partners and other IT teams.

·         In support of project delivery, works with the Finance team to ensure comprehensive user acceptance testing/training plans are developed/executed and application is successfully transitioned into production.

·         Assists in identifying and describing key data relationships to ensure that reporting information is reliable and integrated.

·         Recognizes applicability of and complies with GM Information Security and Control polices when providing system requirements

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

·         Ability to interface with all levels of Management

·         Specialized coursework in Finance and/or Accounting

·         Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

·         Must be team oriented and able to work with minimal supervision

·         Demonstrated strength in  negotiation and facilitation skills

·         Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills

 

 

Education and Experience

·         Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred or equivalent experience is required

·         5+ years of experience in an IT role supporting Analytics using an Agile methodology

·         Experience in Business Process Modeling

·         Working level knowledge of one of the following key areas is a plus

o   Data Modeling and/or Data Architecture

o   Business Intelligence (Cognos, Business Objects)

o   Corporate Performance Management ( Dashboards, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Hyperion, OLAP)

o   SharePoint

·         Proficiency with Microsoft desktop applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
