Role: Data Architect

 

Job Description:

 

The Acadia Data Architect/Modeler has primary responsibility for all aspects of data architecture and data modeling for the project.  The Data Domain Architect is focused primarily on information and data resource management, and will abide with data management principles and practices provided by VFC.

 

The Data Domain Architect/Modeler responsibilities:
●  Owns the data architecture and corresponding governance assets: policies, principles, standards, reference architectures, logical and physical data models, data glossary
●  Makes major data decisions and resolves data conflicts
●  Works with other architects and governing bodies to evolve the overall architecture
●  Defines, communicates, and evolves data architecture and governance assets based upon business and IT requirements
●  Maintains consistency of the data architecture and decisions with data architecture direction set by the enterprise data architects
●   Translates conceptual data models into logical data models using standard modeling techniques and leveraging shared reference models when appropriate.
●   Translates logical data models into physical data designs that address non-functional requirements.
●   Works with the Database Administrator to ensure that physical data design reflects the limitations of and exploits the capabilities of the implementation database platform.
●   Consults with the application or solutions architects and designers in the creation of application domain models
●   Consults with the data integration architect in the creation of message formats

 

Technical Requirements:

·         10+ years of Data Modeling experience for BI both in 3^rd normal form and dimensional, and stage environments

·         Experience with IBM Infosphere Data Architect tool or comparable tools such as ErWin.

·         Classify data into different categories based on Security and Compliances Polices

·         Create and maintain the metadata repository

·         Perform source system data profiling including structure, data, and relationship discovery

·         Design conceptual, logical, and physical models to meet project requirements

·         Evolve existing models to meet new and changing business requirements

·         Design new tables, and integrate new tables into existing schema

·         Consolidate and deliver data centric project artifacts including data profile findings, data quality requirements, business metadata (table/column), operational requirements (data retention, archiving, and purge), etc.

·         Generate data dictionary reports, ER Diagram and other artifacts

Conduct model reviews with DBA's and project team members
