Web Hosting Automation Engineer

Location: Norfolk, VA

Duration: 8 months

Rate: $50-55/hr

Our client, a growing, innovative company is looking for a Web Hosting Automation Engineer to join their team in Norfolk, VA on a contract basis. The contract is scheduled to run 8 months. As a Web Hosting Automation Engineer you will be the primary contributor on a project to port existing automation scripts and tools from a legacy system to VaraLogix Q. VaraLogix Q is software that provides Deployment Automation and Configuration Management in one solution. In this role, you will: Automate deployment of multi-tier hosted web applications using VaraLogix Q; Review existing automation sequences; Port or develop new scripts / methods; and establish VaraLogix Q policies for deployment through QA, stage and production.

 

Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience in cross-platform web hosting or enterprise environment automating application deployments and configuration management tasks.
* Fluent in both Microsoft and Linux / Open-Source Technologies.
* Experience automating application deployments and management.
* Exceptionally strong scripting skills ( Shell and Perl preferred ).
* Good organizational skills with very close attention to detail.
* Good troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent written / oral communication skills.

 3+ yr. Web Hosting Automation Engineer w/cross-platform web hosting or enterprise environment automating application deployments & configuration management tasks; fluency in both MS & Linux/Open-Source Technologies; automation of application deployments & mgmt; exceptionally strong scripting; who will work in Norfolk, VA on an 8-month contract basis.

They'll be on-site for the first 6-8 weeks, and then can work remotely after that.
